Why FaireDuBruit exists

FaireDuBruit was first and foremost the solution to my own need for visibility. A solution that no one was offering.

I was advised to use PR. But how many startups and small businesses can afford them? And my metrics taught me something else: AIs often search in English, even when they are spoken to in French. Being present only in French means missing out on part of their searches.

So I built what I was missing: to be present, in French and English, where AIs go searching. Today, I do it for you.

Twelve business owners in a village square, each with their business logo above their head.
Visibility in AI

Here is what a search engine sees.

Each business, with its name.

The same square: only three of the twelve owners remain, with their logos.

And here is what an AI sees when a customer asks who to choose.

It answers with a few names. The others do not exist.

A plumber's van, with their name and number on the side, then the side blank.

On your van.The whole neighborhood sees it pass by.

The brass plaque of a law firm, engraved with its name, then blank.

On your plaque.Every client reads it on their way in.

A tourist map with a guesthouse marker, then the same map without the marker.

On the map.The tourist office places you there.

Your name is everywhere. Except in the AI's response.

How does a customer find you if they don't see you anywhere?

A business owner alone at their desk in the evening, in front of traffic statistics that are not moving.

You will never see the customer who never saw you.

They leave no trace in your statistics.

A manager at her desk, in front of an empty chat screen.

A customer asks an AI: "Which invoicing software for a small firm?"

They are not looking for your name. They are looking for a page that has the shape of the answer.

What the AI reads, and what it chooses

Visited is not chosen. ChatGPT cites about one page in ten of what its search returns.

✕ Your name is not there

The customer who knows your name finds you.

The one who does not know you yet asks the other question. That is where the choice is made.

The challenges

Your customers ask the AI a question. It answers, with or without you.

Google used to rank you. AI cites you, or makes you invisible.

SEO in the age of AI
