I want to start my business: does AI advise me the same thing from one hour to another?
Published on
Before starting out, you can ask an AI for advice. But if you ask it the same question an hour later, does it say the same thing? We did this three times in the same afternoon.
From memory: the same classics
Without web search, ChatGPT proposes the same directions in each series: cybersecurity in 20 out of 20 responses across the three series, renewable energies in 19 out of 20, tourism in 19 or 20.
With web search: shifting advice
When it searches the web, these directions recede and vary from one series to another: cybersecurity drops to 18, 14 then 16 out of 20 responses, renewable energies to 12, 8 then 8, and tourism only returns 1, 5 then 2 times.
The sources of ChatGPT
The cited pages come from 15 to 21 sites depending on the series. Thirteen appear in all three series, including Bpifrance, LCL, Le Monde, and YouTube: the core is stable.
But the most cited site changes each time: a Bpifrance site at 13:19, a consulting site for founders at 13:56, the LCL page on promising sectors at 14:50. Bpifrance appears in 10, then 7, then 7 out of 20 responses. And one of the cited pages announces in its title the promising sectors... of 2025.
What this changes
For anyone looking to start: an AI response is not a market study. Asked again an hour later, the same question does not highlight the same activities.
For a support network, a bank, or an advisor: ChatGPT searches within a small group of sources that recurs from one series to another. Being part of it means entering the answer; but no one leads every time.
What you can do, simply
- Ask the question several times, with and without web search, before relying on it.
- Verify each lead with the cited sources, starting with public sources.
- For an advisor: publish a page that answers this question precisely, dated with the current year: this is the type of page that ChatGPT cites here.
